Installing Transgo Shift Kit?? JIGAWATT HELP

This damn L Virus struck me again. I just had to do it.

I ordered the TransGo Shift Kit. I stopped by a tranmission shop and was told that they would install for $400.00.

Holly Help! Is it that hard to install. I am mechanically inclined and I was told a video comes with it on how to do it.

Is it that hard???????

I'm not Jigawatt, but I've done 2 of these EXACT shift kits within the last 2 months...one on my L and one on my Expy.

It's simple. Check the archive...been over this a number of times. Feel free to e-mail me at Wa2fsT@aol.com if you want further details or clarification.

If you don't mind getting a little trans fluid on your hands/arms, then its a job you can handle. Definitely NOT worth paying someone $400 to do. It will take you 1.5-2hrs tops and that includes jacking up the truck.

Thanks for the info.

Infact, you were the one who got me interested in the kit.

I'll do a search on the board to get more input and the video that is being sent with the kit should help.

I'll give it a shot. $400.00 seemed a little out of the ball park to me.

Jim,

I have family that live in Orange, Laguna Hills and Corona. Last time I flew down, the plane ticket was only $124.00. Here's my offer: Buy me a plane ticket, and I will install it for you https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif Of course, we'll have to go cruising Newport beach, Laguna beach, or where ever the latest hot spot is! https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif

I know everything costs more in So. Cal. But $400 plus parts is nuts! Have it in for you in 30 minutes! Buy my wife a plane ticket and I'll bring the parts!! https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif

JIGAWATT

That is one hell-of-a-deal.

I just ordered the kit today. As soon as I get it in my hands, consider it done.

I'll e-mail you sometime next week, when the kit arrives and you can let me know when you like to come.

Where in Orange? I lived there all my life. Grad. from Orange High School.

send me your e-mail

Jeesh!!!

I'd do it for a trip to CA, and I can flat out promise you I've done more acumulator installs than anyone you know (lessee, I worked in that department for 6 months, 1400 a day, 6 days a week...that's 218,400 that I've done) In repaier, it takes me about 5 minutes to do an accumulator replace, but I have the box on a pallet out of the truck, so it's hardly fair....
