Links Removed this is the one I bought from Rusty.
I hate to let it go but I've decided to go a different direction, I don't even want to say, many of you would probably laugh. it is a chevy and it has 3 letters

We have a winner, let the bashing begin.

Oh no

Hey, John Force signed my dash board. You think that adds any value to my truck?

Can I just ask the obvious? Why?

GM is stopping production of the SSR's in March 06. They can't give them away. I would never buy one. But if you do, the last ones they produce will have the best fit and finish. Its taken this long to iron out all the bugs. Maybe they will be worth something someday when your Great, great grand children own it. Kind of like on the antiques roadshow...

XCheyennesuper 02-15-2006 09:10 AM

Svtgirl, I guess I am just one who can't keep a vehicle for very long. I have had 2 different 99 L's for going on 5 years which is a long time for me.

Mark. I will be getting a 2005 with the Corvette engine so hopefully it will be better than the early ones. I am considering one because of the price you can find them for, around $30,000 with very low moles. That is about $18,000 off the original price.
I do like the looks of them and want a convertible for a while and they are unique like the Lightning. I really don't care about the value going up though, I have other investments. Keep your eye out on the Antiques Road show, you might see my grandchildren on ther one day, it will be the 2005 Yellow one :)

I have to say that I have loved every minute of owning my L's and if I don't get a good price for Rustys, I guess you will see my grnadchildren on PBS with it one day

Really nice truck dude, good luck selling it.

I'm not really into the SSR, but it is a neat truck. It's heavy as hell though, at something like 5200 lbs. I have a local customer with an 04, with about 25k into it, and I custom tuned it for him on our dyno. Made 450/475, and it scooted down the road quite nice. Easy 12 second truck. The newer ones I think got the 405 horse Vette motor.

Thanks Sal for the compliments.
The SSR is on a TrailBlazer frame so it is quite heavy.
So that motor is quite tuneable without adding much else?

Well, the 04 I did was the 5.3 motor with ZO6 heads, cam, long tubes, and supercharged. I have not worked on one of the 05s yet, but they obviously start with a higher hp.
