Question Stereo Upgrades for the L?

Hi all. I've seen many negative postings about the AM/FM Stereo that's stock on the Lightning. I haven't even heard the thing yet and I'm already convinced that it needs to be replaced. What specific components are you replacing or upgrading? I know many of you have opted for the MTX Thunderforms for monster bass , but what about the rest of the components? Thanks.

Andy

Cool

Andy -

Last week I had a Sony mini-disc and 10-CD changer installed. Along with that I had a single 10-inch sub mounted behind the driver's seat and a Kenwood equalizer installed over the MD in-dash. I upgraded the 5x7s with high end Kenwood speakers. An Audio Art amp drives the whole thing. Big time upgrade in quality. Now I have another reason to go cruising around in my truck. Yeah, like I need another reason.

If we're holding out on the gas, it must be somewhere else in the state. I paid $1.73 a gallon yesterday. BBQ, Check out the signature line for the mods I've made since delivery on 3-6-00. I've shot my wad on toys for awhile, so I'll be spending the next few months just getting used to it, and searching for lower gas prices.

BBQ-

Don't lump all of us Texans together. There are some of us that are poor college students lucky enough to get an L. My parents may be buying the truck (don't know how I managed that one), but I'm in charge from here on out. No job, no mods. Being poor sucks.

6, there's 2 partials left, they are about 200drg F, and have been used as a chicken bidet for the last hour. i'd consider them but it's a work night (do you have those in oil rich texas?). crank it up!!, while i still have a chicken buzz.

So far I'm sticking with the Stock head unit, Sony Component in a fabicated abs plate running of the head unit and MTX Thunderform run of a 200 W RMS Sony amp.
From one of my last vehicles I have a Sony ES Minidisc player, comp. model, no amp inside, all rca out, a sony eq and a 10 disk changer, and some sony amps laying around, they might just make it in the lightning if I'm bored one weekend. It would require some rewiring or the stock setup, so I my or may not do this.
