Guys who have painted their KB's in here>>

Well, my tuner got my KB in the other day and I went to take a look at it. It was nice but, KB sure does a crude casting job on the housing and it has a few scratches on it. It is brand new. All of the KB's I have seen have been like that and I came to the conclusion that I am going to paint it black. What kind of procedures have you guys used to paint your KB's? I was planning to use a wire brush or a drill with a wire brush wheel and strip all the stuff off first. Then I was going to tape everything off and paint it with engine paint. How would that be???

I noticed you have removed the EGR valve and pipework.
What was you reason for this?

Blower Paint.

I prepared my Mag Powers using degreaser only as the casting was A1 (Nice & Clean) then applied etch primer & 1 coat two pack Ford blue all this after assembly and carefull masking of bolts hole & ports first.
Left to dry under heat lamp - now awaiting install.

Ricki.

Dont need no stinking EGR. EGR only introduces hot unmetered air back into the plenum.

Do you know I kinda thought you would say that.
Thinking of doing away with the one on my truck when I complete the engine install.
Will be in contact with my tuner.

I cleaned it up with laquer thinner and sprayed the new Dupli-color Metalcast two part paint to match the anodized red of my red upper plenum. I even did the valve covers.
