Cool need a good Tuner in the San Gabriel -Pomone area. Southtern Ca

I just installed 4# pulley, Xcal 2 tune, AEM CAI and TR6 plugs. i am very happy with the increase HP, but i think i can hear knocking when i am on the freeway and gently press the gas pedal. it happens right before it downshifts. i am concerned that the A/F mixure and timing might be a little off. so, i think i'd rather pay the extra money and have the engine tuned by someone that knows.

i am in the Pasadena/ arcadia area. does anyone know a tuner araund here?

let me know,

So Cal Tuner

Go see Danny Swanson at Swanson performance. Specializes in Fords and has owned a couple of Lightnings. He is on 224th and Normandie in Torrance. His shop has a Dynojet dyno and he can tune with various software. His phone number is (310) 787-7800. I am sure that you will be more than happy with his results!

Danny's your man. I've got 95,000 miles on my truck. 55,000 of those is on his dyno tune. 400 hp 530 ft. lbs at wheels. Same set of plugs that he put in when he tuned it also. Currently, times at the track are pretty close to when it was tuned as well. Now that's called dialed in. Not cheap, but worth every penny!

Good luck

I will add Greg Monroe at Racers Edge Tuning (R.E.T.) he is in Downey and his number is (562) 445-7001.
Greg is very good! he will take the time to make sure everything is just right.
He is a perfectionist and a real nice guy who will listen to you, and explain everything he is doing.
He comes highly recomended from SoCal Lightning owners club, SoCalStangs.com etc.

Hey, I was born and raised in Arcadia. class of 77 AHS.

Anyway, go by and talk to Greg he's close by you and you'll be glad you did.
Tell him Bill sent you.

Cool

You guys from California were right on the money,

Greg was very professional and extremely helpful. i recomend RET (Racers Edge Tunning) to anyone that wants a tune on their L.

these are the numbers:

HP at the wheels:413
max torque: 504.68

this is with 14.8 timing and at 4700 rpm.

i am very happy.

Greg, if you come around this site, thank you very much.

So did the knocking stop after? How much more power did he pull out of it? Who gave you the tune to begin with? Thanks!

Reason being, I'm in SoCal looking for a good tuner.

Cool

Knocking is gone. i bought the tuner via mail so, i got a mail in tune. Go to Greg. you can buy the tuner from him. he ordered 10 while i was at his shop yesterday. he is definetely the guy i recomend.

i went in pulling 380 hp and about 495 torque with the program in the tuner. but running rich and a lot of knocking.

I left with:
rwhp:413
rwtrp: 504.68

not bad!

Ok Ill ask:

What advantage does the 2004 steering wheel give you over >2003?

my Steering wheel was looking pretty bad. i really like the looks of the 2004 and the feel of it. no advantage, just comfort and looks.
