Smile 137.5mph

It's the fastest I have ever gone. I know some of you have gone faster. It was a nice day here in northern Ill. the L was all cleaned up and I went for a ride out west in corn country. I had my Garmin GPS along ,Well I saw a country road I could see a couple of miles, I asked the wife to get out but she said no problem,!? ok, 130 comes up fast I've done that a couple of times ,well the the little woman says that's good , ok ok I got 137.5 recorded on the GPS memory, speedo said the same, 4100rpm, truck felt good, still had more, next time. Oh bone stock but psp on the way. It's fun to be 50 and young.

Haven't seen your Lightning yet, but I'm probably the closest L owner to you. I live near Routes 64 & 59 and have a Red one. There's another guy south of us in Naperville with a black one. The three of us are gonna have to get together for an evening at Route 66. I work in Genoa (Genowhere) so I know what you mean about he country roads and cornfields. My L has been pegged numerous times getting to work. But it's much more fun at the track. Let me know if you want to go when it opens.

Have a picture of the inside of my '93 RX-7 twin turbo at 168 somewhere near Lovelock, Nevada. Only 132 in my L so far. I 17 is not quite the same as an open desert road. The RX was the most well-balanced automobile I ever owned. My L is the greatest truck ever made! ("He says, modestly")

Question

well, i've just about bent the speedo needle :-)

I dunno, anyone have an idea how to gauge speed at past 140? Can you just count tach position or is that inaccurate?

Lightning Bob I'm at Rt59&Stearns, made it to Rt66 last Oct plan on going back.
Mr 351 tailgate up but have tonneau cover.
Nathan a portable GPS will give the most accurate reading and mine holds the speed in memory.

Cool

I promise I'll never embarass you again like that. Girls with adam's apples are awesome. I wouldn't marry one though. I would probably do like 137.5 mph to get away or something.

Lightning Bob-

I know my location says Chicago, but I put that there as a region, I actually only live only a couple of miles from RT66. I'd like to watch a couple of Bolts in action, let me know when you guys go....

Thumbs up

My understanding is the Lightning doesn't have a limiter... it's limited only by horse power and areodynamics..
