JDM Aluminum 5.4 Shortblocks...they're here !!

We are proud to announce that we are now building and selling the 5.4 Aluminum block for the Lightning trucks. We have already done several of these engines and we are finally able to sell them at a reasonable price. The cost of the Aluminum 5.4 Ford GT shortblock is much more expensive than the steel blocks. There is also a few more required parts to run this block. We have made these parts or sourced them out to be available for the community.

Heres what the Shortblock comes with....

Aluminum 5.4 Block
Windage tray (and girdle)
ARP main studs (custom made to fit girdle)
High Volume oil pump
custom made pick up tube
Piston Oil squirtters (which can cool the piston up to 300 degrees!!!)
Custom Oil Pan using the GT oil pan gasket
Forged Steel Crank
Connecting Rods to support 1200 HP
Pistons are offered in 9.5:1 and 10:1 comp ratios
All blue printed and balanced

We have several blocks out there in the 9.5:1 compression ratio and 1 in testing with the 10:1. With the oil squirtters cooling down the piston and with their unique design of only squirtting the piston when its at bottom dead center. It keeps windage down so much that their is very little if any HP loss. With the windage tray it pulls the oil immediatley off the crank. These are serious motors for serious people. They also come with a serious price tag.

The shortblock is $6495.00

We are soon going to offer this in a 4V version for $13,500 (which will require AC delete or relocated to the current altenator position because of the current manifold design we will supply the brackets and altenator, its different) We do have two manifolds right now that will keep them in their current location, one is going on V's truck and the other is going to our caster for a pattern. This will also raise the price of the motor $1000, for the new manifold.

What else would I have to buy to make this shortblock work?

All of the timing components the same?

Timing Chain Cover?

Head Gaskets?

What about the rear seal and slinger?

Bell housing mount up ok?

Motor Mounts?

Oil Cooler / Filter Adapter?

BTW: I think the price is cheap, considering the amount of R&D that you put into this. It would cost me triple that to do this any other way. Thank you in advance for making this possible for us!

Timing chain cover....YES! Stock L will work

Head gaskets....YES! stock L head gaskets will work

Rear Seal and slinger...YES! stock L will work

Bell housing....YES! will bolt right up to stock trans (BTS!)

Motor Mounts.....driver side is different which we have in stock, passenger side is factory stock!

Oil cooler adapter is different and we have those in stock too.

Besides the oil cooler adapter and driver side motor mount it bolts up to every other accessory perfect!

That is actually a pretty good deal! Maybe not for the average joe...but as stated, its a serious motor for a serious racer!

Tell us more about it! Does it have replacable liners? What kind of bore can you squeeze out of it?

how much of a weight savings is there?

Looks like you could go 3.70" bore as long as the aluminum casting is strong enough to take it.

I've got to have one of these! Time to save my pennies! :rocker:

Whats the number one benefit of using the piston squirters? I understand it cools the piston down, but can you tell me the advantage of that? and yes I'm testing you. (hint, windage is not the reason they did that)

Looking real good JDM. I talked to you on the phone today.--Thanks for the chat, and I should be getting one of those in the near future. If I remember correctly, you said that you would be offering a 8.4:1 ratio, too? What about having it bored .020 over? Is that possible, too? And, one last question is with the 4V, these new manifolds will allow us to keep our existing Supercharger set ups, right? Thanks Ronnie

Good thing you didnt post this a few weeks ago or I'd REALLY be in trouble

Looking great Jim / JDM :bows:
This ought to take us to the next level
