Flowmaster
Could not find a flowmaster but did find a Edelbrock RPM Series Part #5512 with dual 2.5" inlets and dual 2.5" outlets that my local muffler shop put on quick and simple. Also maintained the stock header pipes and tail pipes. Sounds nice and runs just fine.
I can't type or spell?????

I've heard flowmasters on a regular 5.4 F150. They are definately louder than the Lightning's unit. I'm not sure you'll get much more power out of them but the sound is certainly more raucous.
SCOTTODOG, Are you going with a 3 or 4 chamber Flowmaster? Check out this link and let us know what you went with and how they sound. http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/fm...PerfMuff1.html

You said you lived in Orange County California and there is a Gas station
that sells high octane fuel at the pumps.
Please name the station or location.
Also do you know what the octane rating is?
Thank You.****

****, I'm not in O.C., I'm in Redondo Beach. In Riviera Village, near PCH and Catalina Ave., there's a 76 station with 100, 110, and 118 octane. The higher grades are leaded, I think, but the 100 is what we're interested in. Haven't run at the strip, but can feel the difference. Let your tank run down to 1-1.5 gallons, if you can. Then get ready for a little fun... at $4.50/gal.

The Flowmaster sounds awesome on the Lightnings, but it helps when you have headers too. And then add the PSP cone filter? WHEW! Push on the gas and your Lightning is literally screaming through the streets. After racing one of my friends he said it sounded like a lion straight out of the jungle when I passed him.

I don't have a Lightning, but a '97 5.4L. I started with a 50 series Flowmaster.Little more sound at idle, alot more when WOT.Torque down low was great. But I wanted more sound. Went to a 40 series Flowmaster. Good sound at idle-definately can hear it. WOT is aggressive sounding. Alot of interior resonance around 1600-1800 rpm. And I did lose low end torque. I'd say run dual 50 series for good sound and no loss of torque. If you want more sound, try the 40 series with the Delta Technology to get rid of the interior resonance. Just a side note:to save weight and get a great sound go with dual single chambers. They are really small and do not sound as loud as people fear they will. My brother in law is running one on a '98 4.6L with a 3" in/3" out.Good sound at idle, no resonance and does not "wake the dead" as you would expect. He says it got rid of his power loss at the one/two shift.I wanted to go the dual route with them but didn't have the money available. Just my thoughts guys.
