15" inside cab of an L, think it's possible?

Has anyone tried this yet with a 15" sub? This is my initial layout for a center console that would T off behind the seats to achieve enought air space for the enclosure.

If all fails I would just do a blow by set-up in the bed.

From the work ive seen you do anything is possible... :rocker:

Was considering the same thing. Having the 10's with teh 15 is moot. Diiferent excursions, efficiencies, etc. The old "epic" systems of 15's 12's, and 10's all in one system never really put out what they were thought to. Do 2 15's with a cut through and it will be LOUD.

The center console idea is nice though. I was going to do 2 12's like that.

I don't know, but I want to be there and help, because I want to do the same thing! I am sending you a PM.

Isn't it also necessary to have enough space around the speaker (enclosed air), in order to make the speakers work correctly. It's not enough just to use huge speakers.

I take it back it looks like you are going outside the cab. My bad.

It won't be anywhere near loud. It'll be somewhere in the range of HURT.http://www.superlightning.com/albums/album37/omfg.gif
I got a friend with 2 solobaric 15" L7's in a bandpass box in the bed of his truck. The cut thru is the port.
It hurts.
It hurts loud.

Heh well I guess it's relative. My best friend is a World Record Holder in USAC/SLAP/DB Drag Racing. 20,000+ watts to 4 18's is BRUTAL.

I did 3 15's with 4500 Watts RMS in my Explorer and it was rediculous. I'm out of the "break your windshield" days though. Time for 2 nice 10's. That's all I need............until my friend convinces me to cut the back wall and do a blow-through :D

took out my 2 12's and have been thinking of a 15" setup, but would have to get bucket seats first to be able to put the sub or subs in between them and build a box and add the very top of a counsel to it to make it look like its a counsel.

TampaBlack99 Aug 19, 2005 09:37 AM

Maybe a twin Isobaric 15" set-up. :D

you should b ab le to make it fit. you may have to angle the sub towards one side to reduce the overall width at the front so it doesn;t envcroach on you leg room toom much and interfere with the gas pedal. put it up front and angle it toward the driver's door enough to be able to make the box 14" outside width.

I might locate the 15" in the center behind the seats for this reason.

15s have a lot of swell man, I have never been a big fan even though they look kind of cool. Did you consider 2 12s first or no?

Your going to shake all your pretty custom parts off your dash :beers:
I like the bed port myself, for that size of sub anyhow

TampaBlack99 Aug 19, 2005 03:49 PM

The only reason for doing a 15" is because I have never seen one. I would ideally like to have a 2 sub systems in the truck. I will try to house both a 10" and 15" in the same box with a divider of course. This way I could listen to the 10" most of the time and when need be, flick a switch to turn the 15" on. I might even make the 15" totally steath and only show the 10". Then I could mess with people, "I swear that's just only a 10 Dude". :D
