Pic's of New Intercooler &...
Well me and my bro spent most of the weekend installing the new upgraded intercooler in my 2000 lightning. I decided to add some detail and paint the supercharger and the calipers to give it a little color in the engine. It looks a lot better in person, cause the pictures kinda suck. The bad thing is that since I did all this work to my truck and now got it working again, I have to sell it. I wish I didn't, but I just bought a house, so its either the house, or the truck...and I know most people would pick the truck, but my fiance isn't one of those people!! Hopefully I'll get another one in a couple of years...hopefully!! By the way...the new intercooler added some great numbers to my truck. I'm before the new intercooler, I ran a 14.1 sec. 1/4 mile with 270 hp and 360 torque. That was measured on my bro's G-meter. That's not rwhp, it measures a little less than that. But my new numbers with the new intercooler are 13.63 @103mph with 308hp & 420 ft-lb. I could really tell the difference. I'm really going to miss this truck, especially since I put so much details into it to personalize it. I got 1200 degree Engine Paint, so I shouldn't have any problems at all with the paint. |
I painted my blower and plenum been fine for close to probly a year now

Looks good - only problem with new shiny paint is that it shows other things that need shiny new paint!
On the heat issues, there are issues with reduced heat release compared to bare aluminum, but the stock blower housing is coated from the factory. Herb |
your g-tech must be off. no way a stock 99-00 should make 270.. it should be a lot closer to 320-330. nice job on the painting though.
