missing at high boost and RPM's, help...

Hey guys,

need some help....2001, Eaton @16 psi, pullies, K&N cool air kit, KB big oval TB, C&L intake, KB switch chip, flowmasters with no cats, Denso irridium plugs and a newly added KB boost a spark.

At WOT when the truck gets to about 4,000+ and 10 psi+ the truck feels like it starts missing. Under normal conditions it runs fine and even pulls good with 3/4 throttle. I think the boost a spark quit working but not sure. Has anyone out there had this problem or heard of it? No other problems with the truck...Any ideas? Is there a vaccum line or sensor that could cause this? The service engine light is not on and all guages read normal. Any help would be great. Thanks.

For what it's worth, I had the same problem on my stock '03. It was under warranty, so I took it to the dealer. They said that I had 1 bad spark plug, replaced it and it's run great since. So, maybe check the plugs first?

Welcome to the forum fm!

One of the symptoms of a partially clogged fuel filter is a miss(if not a shut-down) at or near WOT. I'd surely change that out before I tackled a plug change. With it partially clogged, enough fuel can flow for lower throttle openings but not enough for WOT.

Thanks

Thanks for the input. The plugs and the fuel filter is new, put in about a month ago. I will check those, maybe its just a bad plug. The boost-a-spark would be a pain in the butt to pull out and send off. If it was a bad plug would I get an engine light (missfire code)? I have Denso irridums and they aint cheap, I'll be dissapointed if one has already **** the bed...Thanks.
