31" slicks???
The taller the sidewall of a wrinkle wall tire.. the greater the rolling resistance. Also the less effective gear ratio you'll have.
Your loosing energy in trying to turn them and you won't have as much torque getting to the pavement. However... if you stand to gain enough off the line punch? Then it might be worth it? Are you spinning what you currently have?
BTW: I have 31.2" tall nitto 404s. The are noticeably harder to spin than were the 28" tall F1s. (wheel assembly is only 1# heavier)

What kind of power are you making? At my power level I have tried about 5 different sizes from ~26-30 and my best times have come from 28" slicks. This would change though if you had a built motor with a KB/etc.
I launch around 1800 and have 1.50 60' times. If I try to launch much harder, I spin. I currently run around 124mph in the 1/4 My calibration would change the 3.73 to about a 3.50 One of the drawbacks I see is the 30" hoosiers weigh 26lbs and the 31" MT's weigh 33lbs.
