FTVB Question

I've been contemplating the FTVB mod and had a few questions. On a daily driven L that sees rain is hard shifts everyday going to get old. Everyones description of these is that they are a kick in the butt everytime you shift and it makes me think I'm going to be scared to get out of first gear in the rain. Is driving comfort going to really diminish with this mod or will it be forgiving when I'm not getting on it.

It is forgiving when your not above 1/2 throttle...I have no problems with it in the rain at all. If I'm cruising it shifts firm, but not hard...if your WOT on the other hand...hold on.

I say go for it, it's a great mod and I wish I had done it first...

Thanks for the quick replies I think i'll be getting this pretty soon, it seems everyone says this would be their first mod if they were going to do it again. All i've done is k&n panel and a silver bullet.

What kind of 1/4 gains are your guys getting out of these w/ fairly stock trucks like mine.

you don't gain anything track-wise with a valve body, except the peace of mind that your tranny will last significantly longer

whtLightnin9834,

You'll get used to it in no time flat. Plenty of the guys have them and drive in the rain without a problem. Even with the stock valve body, a Lightning has the torque to jump sideways in the rain if you're driving it too hard.

You won't have any problems. And, I have them in stock and ship everyday. You're next!

And to answer the first question, an FTVB never gets old, it's the best mod you can do.

Neither one is necessary, but we have both kits in stock.

I would not hesitate a minute to do a FTVB. It's an awesome mod.

Also you can't beat Tim's (chikenears) service.

I'm not sure what a shop would charge to install, but if you have a standard set of tools, it's not that hard to do yourself...I installed mine in lesss that an hour...

I also put on the moroso pan and the 4x4 filter, but it's n ot necessary like the chickenears family said!

Get the FTVB...it's good stuff. You should also get new tranny pan with a drain plug...makes future fluid changing much easier.

This is a easy mod that you can do yourself.
