99 driver's seat worn out

The left side portion of the the driver's seat has worn through. I have tried to find a service notice but unable to locate any. I read a thread about Ford replacing the seat but I can't find it. Thanks

Ford will not replace the seat parts. Unfortunately you will be stuck buying hundreds of dollars worth of seat foam and a lower cover. It used to be a common issue, but I've not heard anyone mention it in a long time. I wonder if the seat frame was redesigned around 01-02.

Anyway, if you DO buy new foam and a cover, do a search here on the subject. I am pretty sure I had made a post years back on how to fix it do it doesn't happen again.

Nope Sal - no redesign - at least not up through early 02. Ican still feel that stupid bar.

I have the same issue with my early 02 True Blue. I still have (had) warranty left, so I went to the dealer about it. The had to take pictures and submit the claim to Ford before they could do anything, but, to my surprise, Ford OK'ed the warranty claim and they ordered a new seat bun. It is still on backorder (from 3 weeks ago) and I have since rolled past 36K, so the story is not over yet...

As for your's being a '99, I don't think you'll find much love in the free repair department. It may be time for some aftermarket seats and the matching Expy Console! It's not a problem - it's an opportunity.

Good Luck,
Herb
