Actually it does, but I don't know how much I can say : o )

Talking with Sal A LOT over the past few weeks, has brought me much NEW knowledge on our Motors. The man is a wizard on these thing, hats off to Sal :rocker: . There is so so much I had no idea of, just today I found out a 5.4 Built Motor actually uses 4.6 Pistons, (I didn't know that, DID YOU ?) I won't go into the Cons on it (AND THERE ARE CONS), but I will say we're going to have to wait a little longer and keeping in my usual "I WANT TO TRY EVERYTHING FIRST THEORY" and I WILL be using a new style "5.4" piston : o ) WOO HOO......

I will also be addressing the Exhaust System, CAN YOU SAY LONG TUBES : o ) (the system will be unique, (exclusive even),
possible the first one ever done like this) THANKS SAL

If all goes well, we may also be addressing the Convertor. [/b]: o )[/b]

SLEEP WELL MY FRIEND, BEFORE YOU KNOW IT,
IT'LL BE HAMMER TIME
Here Gator Gator ................

damn last time I saw that little Mustang he was still wrenching on it. IT's a Beaut that is now completed!

So looking over sals truck real quick one can't miss the HUGE turbo and the Nitrous. (things are getting interesting quickly)

Rob,
Long tubes, convertor, "new" pistons...
Sounds like you're stepping up to the "contenders" plate. CONGRATS!

Exclusive exhaust? Hmm.. electric cut-outs?

Sal, not sure who told you the 5.4L L pistons are actually 4.6L units but they are not. Although they do share many of the same dimensions as the 4.6L Cobra piston, they are unique forgings that are specific to the L application.

Please enlighten us as to what this "new and improved" 5.4L piston is.

I was referring to all the aftermarket pistons for the 5.4. They are all 4.6 pistons, and are .120 in the hole. The new piston I am using now is designed just for the 5.4, and will come all the way up the cylinder and use the proper dish.

Ya what he said,
I'm getting dish, woo hoo....
I can see it now, the first 10 sec L with 5.4 Pistons

Man these Mod motors are differant than the decades of Chevy
Small and Big Block motors I lived for. The point I was making was, how great it is to work with someone with such great knowledge and expertise on the L and Mod Motors. Sal has been so patient with me in explaining whats available, whats differant, what we can do differant, whats new (like these Pistons) and NO l-menace although I wanted the cut outs, their out.
We're going to try and use a little of this, and a little of that,
and hope to end up with one kick ass fairly low budget Long Tube exhaust system, I have faith Sal is going to pull it off too ; o )

My pleasure lightning66, I'm always willing to help.
And yes, having Sal and his Shop minutes away, IS PRICELESS

Dale, the old car is a 54 Ford Customline. We are pulling the original 239 and Fordomatic trans out of it, and transplanting a 4.6 SOHC and 4R70W. :D
