Schitt for the price, it would clearly be the best option for a guy like me, Long Tube Headers, Mid Pipes, Hi Flow Mufflers, Hi Flow Cats, + Tips has got to run a couple of Grand installed RIGHT ?
With this I can have my Whine (THAT I LOVE SO MUCH) and then use this WHEN EVER and ONLY WHEN EVER I want
I can run it fully closed, partially open, any position partially open or closed, or fully open, WOOO HOOO............
What do you guys and gals think, anyone using them here ????
Anyone know which EXACT KIT AND PART NUMBER I would need for a 100% stock Lightning Exhaust ?
And WHERE'S THE BEST PLACE TO PUT IT ?
Once the motor's out, is there pipes I can take off the truck and go have modified with these and have it ready to simply bolt back in later ?
I think it would be a great alternative "and the best of both worlds" for a fraction of the price of the full deal exhaust. You can cruise the street partially open to give you a nasty sound, you can have a Hemi pull up next to you, hit a switch, and go to 100% open, and scare the schitt out of him,
before you even touch the Pedal
And whats better than the good old sound of full open exhaust for track day, WOO HOO

a lot of the slomaro owners use McCord, Rob ... also the QTP's
They are mean sounding ... I was thinking of putting
them right behind the cats ... But if you go the full

i heard that the electric cut outs had problems leaking (even when closed) and also that they really impede exhaust flow and will rob you of power when not run wide open... I've never heard anyone running them on an L though so maybe you could be our test piglet?
I have them on my Vette they sound mean, but honestly if you have a freeflowing exhaust the gains will be minimal. I love them though because you do get the best of both worlds, plenty of noise to scare of ricers and freeway driving without a headache.
I have the mccords and no leaking issues. They do all the orders over the internet the only reason he likes to know the vehicle is to size the wire loom, they are really universal so no car specific kits really exist.

Rob... I have seen more power loss from those things than anything. You WANT some backpressure on your truck. I ran open headers a few times, JL ran Straight headers a few times and many others have as well. Performance will suffer...

If you want a cheaper way out. Get Sals used headers and buy a MAC catback. I have used it on a few trucks & stangs and have had great results. Most MAC's can be found for less than $280-300 shipped. If you arre looking for a LEGAL look take two cats, gut them and have them welded in.

Installed I would bet less than $1000
And you would have GREAT performance.
The pipe work would be minimal....

guy posted on here i think yesterday that had dyno'd with open headers and without.....30horse lose....doesn't sounds like a good idea to me

Dosent matter... Still needs SOME backpressure... Not alot... But some...
Open headers on these modular motors does not work... Most of the BIG MODULAR guys even run some type of exhaust....
