OK, guys I'm crazy...M112 question.
I'm about to mix Ford and Chevy. A company has made a sheetmetal intake to put an Eaton M-112 on an Impala SS LT1 motor. I am eventually going to go with a Blowzilla, but I was wondering if the 112 will support a 383 stoker with an 8.4:1 compression ratio? Will I have to overboost it, or will life be fine for a few months? Thanks for the help.

I'm sorry guys, I could have swore that I had posted here before. My bad. Not the right way to go for the first post is it?:) Been a member for a while, just never got the chance to say or ask anything important.
Just consider this question to be the lead in for the Lightning addiction.:D  Mav |
depends on how free flowing your 383 is. If it has killer heads, big valves, headers, and a nice intake you may have to spin the hell out of it to make boost. If it is a basically stock LT1 it should work just fine.

There are more effecient blowers to use but it will work fine on your set up.
I'm assuming you will be intercooled? If not then I'd say your wasting you time with a M112. |
IMO, an M112 is too small for a motor that size. But it also depends on WHAT M112 they are using. There is no "generic" Eaton M112. If they are using one from an 03 Cobra or Jaguar, that would be better than a Lightning unit.

Ouch, you guys are killing me. But thanks for the help!
Heads are stock iron ported 2.02/1.60 valves Flow #s are Lift Intake Exhaust 100 62 49 200 125 107 300 182 151 400 224 173 500 248 184 600 245 190 they were ported for the stock LT1 bottom end and an ATI P1 setup. Adding the cubes and a larger cam might make it more difficult I see. Has nobody ran the M112 on a stroked 5.4? Mav |

Originally posted by MadMav Well, as far as I'm aware, they don't make one that will bolt onto the Lightning, or in the same location as the M112. Do they? Mav :cool:http://www.camcojb.com/2.3whipple.jpg |
Redlightn 02,
Thanks, I have read that it has been in the works for over a year now. How soon is this happening? I would rather go Whipple if I had the choice, but I was wondering if the M112 would last for 6-12 months while I saved up? Thanks, Mav |
