Those of you running LFP's electric fan...

Were you able to keep your stock water pump and run the LFP fan kit? I have done a search and the results are inconclusive. Thanks!

From what I have heard it is the same as the JDM kit. If so yes you can use the stock water pump.

You can get alittle better flow out of the Cobra R pump. The impellers are differant. Plus its made for no fan attachment and wont have threads showing.

Actually, I think the "Cobra" water pump flows slightly less than the stock water pump, its advantage is that it takes less horsepower to turn.

I have the LFP E-fan and retained the stock water pump with no problems.

With all due respect, the first sentense is incorrect. The second and third statements are correct.

LFP E-Fan and stock water pump here. I have a 2003 so the impeller design is the same as the Cobra R, but with bigger impellers...so does that mean it flows more...hmmm

So unless you just want to spend money for the "cobra R" pump that doesn't have the fan threads on the end, frees up a couple HP, and flows less...then the stock pump will work just fine:thumbsup:

ive heard a lot of conflicting advice on the water pumps, i dont think that anyone has really pointed out a solid gain with one to me. that doesnt mean there isnt one, just one that i havent personally seen first hand. i remember someone reported a loss with one, but there was no proof with that either
