Stock Time How good is it?

I ran yesterday at 75-80 dragway in Monrovia Maryland with my 4 week old 2004 Lightning. First pass was a 14.51 had very bad traction issues. Second run was a 13.71 which shocked me to no end considering the first time i went to the track with this truck it had 300 miles on it and got me a best of 14.02. Well eliminations came and I was ready to go. The truck took off like a bullet and I wound up with a 13.55! I couldnt believe how fast the truck went. What I am asking is how good is this for a stock Lightning? Im talking not even air being taken out of the tires stock. Please share some other times with your stock L.

I went a 13.58 @ 100.60mph in 72* temps and 70% humidity. That was in my 03 when it was bone stock.

Sounds right. My only runs on my stock L were 13.9's @ ~99. Crummy 60' times, and poor (hot) weather.

If you're bone stock (no mods whatsoever) I would say that 13.55 is a very good time and that you are one of the fortunate ones to have a strong engine from the factory seeing that your truck is still tight, it should get better from here on, good job at the track with stock tires!

Nice numbers!

My best stock was 13.85 @100 in the Texas heat. I got my 02 used, so that was at ~23k miles. Also had (and still have) bad 60's.

What was the weather like for your run and what was your 60'?

Impressive,
My only stock runs were in crap air but 14.0 & 14.1s were the best I could get.
made me mad enough to start modding

That's great times for 75/80 man!!

That track isn't known for traction. I managed a 13.4 at Capital, but good times nonetheless.

A few of us are on local boards.

My fastest 1/4 was 13.48 @ 101.5mph. The short was a 1.98. My best short was 1.94. I only went 13.80 on that run. The 13.40 was in 54 degree temps in the fall last year. The 13.80 was in 75 degree temps this summer. Its not to easy with the Goodyear F-1's, but once you master the launch you can pull a mid 13 second pass with good temps.

If people could only understand what 75-80 is like then this time would be appreiciated a lot more But besides that im posting what all of my numbers were during that run.

1/4 mile:
13.5585

speed 1/4:
99.5969

60 ft:
1.8937

330 ft:
5.5908

1/8 mile:
8.6324

I would love to get some Maryland Lightnings to the track one day if anyone is interested. Maybe somewhere like Mason Dixon would be great to take advantage of this fall weather. BTW the main reason I posted this is because I also have a 2004 Mach 1 that runs a 13.51 and it shocked me that the Lightning even though the hp and tq it makes is just 5 hundreths slower. With that being said what is the first mod to start aiming for 12's?

fordlightning76,
Where in Maryland are you at?? I'm in Elkton, Cecil is having an event November 13th. Cost is $55, I haven't entered yet but am planning on!
Chip, pulley, intake, and cold air will get you in the 12's!!
Sincerely,
Bryan
