tornado

hey guys, just had a question. im sure a lot of you have heard about one of those tornado vortech devices that you put into your intake to create a whirlwind effect inside your intake to increase gas mileage. do these things really work? and if so, would it work on a lightning even though it has a supercharger? and like most of you i took my stock intake out. mine is an air force one with a power tube. or is this thing a cheesy aftermarket?

Can't imagine that it can help on a supercharged vehicle. The airflow is blasted to bits by the rotors.

Oh contraire. I got an extra .0000000001 mpg with the one I installed. I also gained .000000000000000943 rwhp on the dyno. Same day back to back right off the street and hot.

HOLY COW, that's great
I only got 000000000000000243 rwhp and lost gas mileage.
Hmm, wonder if I put it on backwards and the tornado grooves
are going up?

Bud, no offence but you should be flamed for asking a question like that.

Hopefully you're kidding!!!!! Anything that restricts the inlet side of a blower will cost HP, sometimes a bunch. And there's no way that thing cannot be a restriction.

I hear ya .....I'm a loyal customer !!!!

I saved over 27% in mileage and I'm experimenting in placing 3 inline
for a total of 30 hp. triple threat
plus the secret weapon......
(I took the fan out of my conair hair-dryer) installed before the tornado and wired it to "high" with a transformer from 120 to 12v .....

Hey these other guys can make slanderous statements but I'm with the thread originator....mjbumpy4.

Not much shindiggin' going on at SEMA (most vendors are too tired from the preparations), but I did have several clients there.

If I had my way, all of my clients would be aftermarket/racing companies. Puts all of my useless auto knowledge to some use.

Well, maybe a few from the adult film industry also.
