still can't hit 12's

Just got back from Cecil, lowest time is 13.07 with a .067 light. I have a 4lb pulley, diablo predator, c&l 95mm maf, c&l inlet pipe, flowmaster cat back, and nitto drag radials. Just insalled jlp traction bars and removed hitch and spare tire (last run put a bag of ice on blower). Running around an 1/8th tank fuel.

What can I do to dip into the 12's other than wait for cool weather? My 60 was 1.93, I don't know if I wasn't getting on it hard enough out of the hole, I figured they would be in the 1.8's with the bars!

My last run was against a mod'd mustang, He passed me in the last 50 feet of track with a 12.47! He had a terrible light 5.07.

Next mod I plan is a valve body does anybody think this will do it?

The valve body might help a bit but not much i don't think. Definitely some cooler weather and your there in the 12's but why wait...get the supercharger ported and 12's will be no problem...

Do you think porting the blower is as simple as matching an intake to heads, on a 350 chevy? (was thinking of doing it myself). I've done a little of this quite a few years ago. If not, who do you recommend?

I recommend APTEN. They do great work. Unless you are a good machinist and have experience in porting superchargers I would not do it yourself. Typical gain via porting supercharger is around 30hp. Some have gained less, Some more. But you will notice the difference.

I'm a diesel mechanic not a machinist, wish I was! Thanks for the advice. I'll look up the site and see if they have an exchange deal. I just had the truck dyon'd 2 weeks ago with 378 hp, JLP said I should be alright, with a stock lower end, to about 425 hp. so 30hp shouldn't hurt!

Cooler weather and you are there.
Same weather and a 1.8 60' and you are there.

You already have the mods to get you in the 12's.

Thanks Rich,
I thought I should have reached 12's by now but I'll try and do some harder launches (even with the 79% humidity). I'm heating the radials and don't remember them spinning tonight, so maybe it's operator error!

Everyone has a favorite, PI is popular.

My truck stalls at 3000 and my buddies stalls at about 3500. When our trucks were even power wise, his 60' times destroyed mine.

You do realize that there isn't any correlation
between reaction time and ET, right?

Yes I realize there isn't a correlation between r/t and et. I've been practicing launches, was going over to atco this weekend for the ford shootout. Figured it didn't matter how fast a truck I had, just had to pull the best light.
Unfortunatley, work decided they couldn't do without someone and it's going to get rained out anyway!

Still want a 12 though!

Thanks Jim,
I wish it was like last week, low humidity and temps! Seems like the only time I have to race is when it's hot!!

Invest in a set of slicks and you are there. Or hell, borrow a set to see if that puts you there.

Good Luck in your neverending search to go faster
