I'm getting my wife an '04 Explorer, and would love it if someone could hook me up with an x-plan pin. I used to have one, but I think they only stay active for 6 months, as I did a search on the Ford Partner website and it didn't show up.

My company is a member of the X-plan. I have used it in the past to purchase a Windstar.

Recently I learned a better tool. Negotiation.

Yes I was able to negotiation a better price than the X-plan can deliver.

Use tools like Edmunds.com to find out what the price should be for your vehicle with options. Then get them to go lower than that. Have other dealerships compete for your business.

It works.

You can also call dealerships and just ask them flat out what the X-plan price is. I did. That's when I learned I could negotiation MUCH lower than that.

Catch them at the end of the month, or on a holiday weekend, and you'll get your best deals.

Just sold my 02 Explorer that I purchased on X plan. Just be warned that Explorers do not hold there value well at all.
