Bug screen idea

Now that I have upgraded from the 99 to the 04 and it is brand new to me I want to take a little extra care.

As if we all aren't **** enouph

I cut out a peace of aluminum screen door screen 31" X 18 1/2" and slid it down in front of the AC condenser to help keep the bugs and debri from jamming into the fin's at 100+ MPH speeds.

It looks nice, and lays flat. You have to take the top plastic cover off to gain access.

What do you guys think? Will it cause to much of a restriction?
I have done this for years on other vehicles but it was a black nylon mesh and I can't remember where I got it.

The bugs generaly hit and die, then cook and fall to the bottom instead of wedge there little boney corpses between the fins.

While I was in there I found a small clear plastic bag from something?? Glad I looked.

I'm thinking of adding a screen too. I quickly looked at the what is holding the cover on-large-plastic washers with Phillips screw. How exactly does it come off..... do you pull...unscrewing does'nt work?

Sometimes you have to reach under the cover and pinch the backside of the screw holder together so the screw will back out.

I gave up on that. Actually it looks like threads but they are just ribs.

I took a fine pointed scratch awl and picked right under the screw head and pry up. It pops right out. Then the big washer looking part will lift right out.

When you put them back you can just push the screw right in the retainer with your finger.

If you screw one up don't worry. Most good Paint and Body suppliers have bags of them on a revolving stand for pretty cheap. (that should tell you something) A big seller.

The lower inter cooler radiator is easy. You don't have to mess with any of that. There is enough room to feed your scree over the top and just let it lay in there. Sorry I didn't measure that one but it is smaller than the first.

I have done a couple hundred easy miles and seen no diff in the stock gauge needle movement.
