Torque on Plugs

What do you guys usually torque your plugs to when instaling them? I know some hand tighten but that just bothers me a little. worried I will get stupid and tear something up. Thanks for any feedback.

Good luck getting an accurate torque reading with the maze of swivels and extensions needed to get to the rear plugs.

ford spec is 13ft/lbs, but as many said it's hard or impossible to get an accurate torque reading due to the many extensions and or universal joints required to do the job in a reasonable amount of time.

to use an extremely corny old mechanic joke.

just use your German torque wrench on them.

GUDENTITE!

chris

I haven’t yet changed my plugs on my Lightning but anytime I did with other vehicles I have always done them hand tight (snug) then 1/8 to 1/4 turn more with the socket.

Spark plugs 9-20 Nm

78-176 Lb In.

As per Ford service spec.

I usualy do the snug and then 1/8 of a turn
