What's the deal on the x-plan?

I've seen you guys call it a friends and family discount for the L. Well, I found a pretty black L I want and I asked about the x-plan pricing. Dude said they can do it, but it depends on who I work for. Does anyone know the whole story or know of a link that has the whole story? :help:
