Need some Traction bar Help
I've installed my homemade stainless steel traction bars with them set with the snubber below the front spring mount I had about 1/4 inch gap BUT I could not install the right side that what because of interference with the exhaust and clamp so I had to slide them back. I set them where the snubber would hit right where the secound leaf started but now I have about a 1 inch gap between the snubber and the spring is this too much? Thanks for the help I run at the track on F1's here is a pic of my bars.

1 inch shouldent be to bad. I run mine at 1/2" but they do get a little bouncey at times. The real optiomal setting would allow the rear to rotate untill it is exactly allinged with the drive shaft while leaving some clearance for a smooth ride under part throutle conditions.
You can test this by putting a jack under the front of each traction bar and raise them until the snubber is pushed into the spring. Then compair the pinion angle to the drive shaft angle. The better the allingment the faster your truck will be. To adjust add shilms to the front or back of the bar mounting pads.

I'll have to try that and measure angle. I the traction bars to load the suspension at around 1200rpm that is the point when it starts to lift. My main reason for these traction bars is to protect my drive shaft and also hope to get a little more traction out of the hole.I'd like to see a 60' better than 1.95 which is my best so far on F1's at 32 psi tire pressure.
