Sounds like a great build up. What did he suggest for break in? A trip to the strip

So did you get any head work? Do you have headers?

That thing is gonna haul. Keep us posted as to your progress.

quickcanuck Feb 19, 2004 07:15 PM

Unfortunately my Amex maxed out and the one thing I didn't do were the heads.
In regards to break in, I have been told these newer engines aren't like the old blocks where you had to wait 3,000 miles to let the thing loose. Now, it is almost plug and play right away....or is there a break in period?

Hilander Feb 19, 2004 07:26 PM

Well I am getting a JDM motor (Should be here soon:D )
I was told no break in required:eek:
Like you it's goona be hard to nail a new motor haha....but big fun:beers:

Very hard...just have to get through that first WOT without anything going boom...then i can :smoke:

I hope to hear a change in sound too...don't know what to expect...especially with the stage 2 cams??

You know, John Wayne would have told you if you get thrown, to get right back on that horse and ride again. Don't make John Wayne think you're scared. Ride that horsey!

With 20 psi or so of total boost pressure, I would have gone with IT 24's or NGK BR7EF's. I don't think those IT22's are 'cold' enough for that extra pressure.

Sal recommended the BR7EF's for my 15 psi of boost pressure...............they have been super.
