"wouldn't It Be Nice If Some Vendor Had Exchange On Ported Blower Fast Turn Around??

:smoke: When is some reputable vendor going to offer exchange on ported eaton blowers for fast turn around and will this ported blower along with chip pulleys cold air etc/ add about 35 or so horsepower???. :p

Apten offers it, they get $599.00 for the Port if you send them yours, and if needed, add $600.00 refundable for a Core Charge.

Or just do what I did, find someone with a KB, borrow their
Eaton, send that one out for Porting, when it gets back,
swap S/C's and give them back yours.

V was willing to do it for me, but of course he charged me
1 Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillion Dollars

My Ported Eaton will be here today a matter of fact

EDIT
BTW
I will be running a WASP

I don't know much about Apten, but don't they have fairly fast service with exchange?

Lightningquick Feb 9, 2004 03:23 PM

personally I would feel much more comfortable just getting my own blower back.If you cannot live without your truck for 1 week, borrow someones car..Shipping that eaton probally isnt cheap. If you cannot live without your truck for a week, you might wanna reconsider doing mods;)It might break...........

I think I sent mine out to Apten and had it back in about a week. Best of all I got my original blower back.

Fast Gator Feb 9, 2004 06:34 PM

Apten had a turnaround of 1 week.....
me sending mine, them porting mine and then returning mine:p

That way, I don't have a over boosted high milage blower:devil:

Btw........just came in from button'n mine together.

Figured I'll clean up, have a cold beverage, and burn one in Rob02 honor...then fire that boy up. Dyno on saturday with a dyno tune too:lol:

I think Lightning force is doing ported and polished blowers w/ quick turn around time. Check them out on NLOC:beers:

We are a dealer for Apten now, so you can have your porting done through PSP if you like. I have been buying some new and low milage Lightning blowers, so that I can have a few on hand for exchange. That won't be for a few weeks before I have them all and get them ported and back, but for now Apten has a 2-3 day turnaround.

Most of the people we have done this for have requested that they get their own blower back. I know if I was sending my '03 to someone for porting, I would'nt want to get back one from some yahoo who had 80k miles on his truck...................but I bet he'd love to have mine.

Having said that, we are picking up a few extras for those of you who do not particularly care wether you get your own back or not. For some, its their daily driver and they just can't be down for a few days.

BTW...............we charge $299.00 for the same service.

The cores we use are all "like new" condition in our core exchange program. Early on we learned that it had to be that way for the core exchange to be successful for everyone. If we get a core back that isn't acceptable for our program we just send it to ebay.

Unless the bearings and gears are replaced on every core returned, they have the miles on them that the owner put on them. Not to say they are bad, but visual inspection cannot pick up the wear on a bearing surface, and measuring them (bearings) would entail disassembly, which no one does. Therefore, unless these measures are taken, the "unit" has more miles on it than most later year vehicles.

Again, not that they are "bad", they just have more miles (wear) on them.

We are offering it both ways, but we just don't say that the exchange unit, which may or may not have the same number of miles on it, is the same as the one being received.
