Remaining 2003 L's

I was wondering if anyone knew why there are so many new '03 L's sitting around. I live in northern Illinois (not Chicago) and there are almost 30 new '03 L's within 100 miles of my house. If I include Chicago dealers I bet there are 45 or so.

I talked to a dealer who had 5 of them (plus some '04s all ready) and he said they would sell at invoice for $29,977 and there was also an additional $1,000 rebate. So they are down to $29K on the phone.

Next month when 2004 is a week away I bet I can get a pretty good deal from a dealer with 4 or 5 2003 and 3 2004 L's sitting on the lot under 6 inches of snow. Any guesses on how low they will go or does anyone know of rumors of a big rebate next month? If there are that many 03's left on lots everywhere I'd have to guess FOMOCO will sweeten the pot with some real rebates for once.

Too bad the jerks are only gonna want to give me $14K for my Mustang. Oh well, I've wanted a L since the day they came out. I think the time is NOW!

Same here in NJ, all local dealers have 2 '03 L's left, but none of them have dipped below $30k in their offers yet. Guess that gives me some time to unload my M3... anybody here interested?

What are these rebates you speak of?

I remember when I was looking for trucks earlier this year around March and April there were still new 02's on the lot...they were pretty cheap. Good luck

Other than the $1,000 the dealer told me about I don't know of anything specific.

I'm just speculating that if there all these last model year vehicles on the lot, a nice rebate should be on the table to help move them (like the current $3,000 cash bach on Rangers- that's what I'm lookin' for).

Sorry to get you excited, maybe I should keep my speculating to myself.
