so the filters are for the pro-m mafs only? wha do you mean by "studs"...I dont want to give up my maf, now that its polished and looks good.

The pro-m MAF's have a special filters and mounting setups, in which the filter itself is bolted ot the mass air (like headers on an engine head)

You can get those filters in pretty much any size and style. Ill find a good website for you tomorrow..

The heating effect of the aluminum is negligible. You can put your hand on it after a 30 mile drive and not get burned. Remember that aluminum is also used as an insulator and reflects heat. The cool down is faster else they would make cylinder heads out of composite. Either piece , REMs or C&Ls, serves its purpose. I had to accomadate a larger mass air and the C&L accomodated that while allowing me to use my PSP fast air kit....
