Question Gear Lube?

I am going to drain the factory gear lube and replace it with Redline 75W-90. I need to know how many quarts the rear end holds? The supplement states 3.3-3.8L or around 3.1-3.4 quarts by my calculations. I did a search and found that most are getting by with 3 quarts is this correct? I need to know because I have no local Redline retailer and have to order online.

Good choice in lube! Buy 4 qts and have a little extra in case you spill a little or need to top off someday...jb

I made the mistake of droping my cover before buying some lube, called all the parts stores in town and no one had it. So I got raped by Ford. $16 a quart. OUCH

3 quarts will be sufficient. An extra 4th would be handy in case you spill some or accidentally nock a bottle over. They recommend a 75W-140, and Mobil 1 makes a full synthetic in that weight, available at most auto parts stores.

Where at in Milledgeville do you live? I was down there for 9 months working on a power plant. I lived off Log Cabin Rd in Villimar. I had the Black '01 with Kentucky plates "TRYAGN". I only say two other L's. One was a 99-00 white one and a 02 Blue.

I know there is a questions on which lube to use since the supplement say 80W-90 and the tag says 75W-140. I am going to use th lighter weight and if anything happens I can point to the supplement as my reason way unless there is a definiative answer that 75W-140 is correct.

Also I pull a 22' Baja so should I consider the heavier weight lube.

If you every go by the Brick tell Shannon and Ayana that Jeff and Melissa (Former Brick Chick) said hi.

Yea I talked with the owner of the Stelth and had a run in with him before he wrecked his first one. It was a good run. I wanted to run the white Supra just to see how fast it was. I was able to run the one of the red ones and I was able to start pulling him on the top end.

The guy with the white supra and the guy with the stealth are brothers. The white supra is super damn strong. Which red one was it, chrome wheels or alloy, or was it a white guy or asain guy? Both are actually broke right now.

The one I ran was not the guy who worked at Ivey Tire (White Guy). I knew the owner of the stealth and white supra were brother in talking with the stealth owner. He told be the supra was pulling somewhere around 600 Hp. I only talked to the supra owner very briefly on the street out in front of the Brick.

Be carefull around there of a Dodge Dakota. The owner did a custom job of droping in a Turbo Cummings diesel and has a small sticker on the rear window claiming 500HP club. I ran him at HammerHeads off 441 near Eattion(SP) and beat him by a good amount but he traped 1-2mph higher that I did.

Sup Justin

Hi, 01-Bolt...I remember seeing you in M'ville...my bro's Stealth TT runs 7.8's in the 1/8th and 12.5 @ 109 in the qtr with ~1.7 60ft times.....wickedly strong for their tiny stock twin turbos....time slips and video here:

http://moojohn.com/stealth

I'm enjoying my TRD Supercharged 4Runner...not nearly as quick as a Lightning, but still surprises a lot of unsuspecting hondas and stuff *LOL* (275hp isnt bad for a SUV)

As for my Supra...from what my bro told me, you'd definitely jump me on the low end...probably a couple carlengths or so...I have pretty instant spool with this high stall torque converter and instant shifts with the SP built tranny, so it would be a fun run Supras are amazing on the top end...I ran 118-120mph in the qtr on only 18psi....this is more 450-500hp (93 octane pump gas)....should hit 130mph or more at 27psi which would be closer to 600hp with race gas only..definitely not on my everyday 'on the street' hp ...

Both red Supras in town are on the stock twins...impressive that you can pull on the top end, thats usually the strong point of a Supra. You ran Blitz's Supra..pretty much stock.

Anywayz...awesome Lightning 01-Bolt...if you are ever near M'ville again, be sure to drop us a line so we can all hit the track

Yea I was real supprised I was pulling him in but since I didn't get to take with him afterwards I am not sure if he was lifting or not. Either way I know your Supra was about the best car I say while in Milledgeville.

Ask Blitz if he remembers running from the cops on N Columbia street around John Milledgeville Motel. Let him know that was me behind him.
