2004 F150's cost more than the 03 Lightnings

I saw the 2004 F150 today and the sticker price was $34,440.00
That was an ex-cad 4x4 5.4 3v auto XLT plus a few options. base price was $30,085.00 plus shipping
Damn how much will the 05 Lightning cost? $40k+

if they put on what they said for the original showing, i would say possibly 40k. Brembos and 500 hp doesnt come cheap.

I think a lot less people are going to get Ls if they cost that much.:(

The 04 Lightning is the same as the 03 - the price was listed here on a Ford buy sheet a few weeks ago ...... The only changes are color. Silver is back ...

If the question is about the Gen3 L's price. I have seen projections of 40K. Considering that is only about 8k over what the 01-03's list for I don't think that the price is that bad. It has over 100 more hp and 50 more tq and runs 12.5's showroom stock @115mph. If I can get the same deal as I got on my 02' the next Gen L would cost me 37K. That is a bargain. Of course everthing else was improved as well as hp/tq but thats what matters the most to me. I don't like the fact that they will be manuals tho:mad: . Maybe Factory Tech will have a conversion package to put a MonsterBox in the Gen3s.:rocker:

I still have to get used to the looks tho. The 97-03 stepside F150 is the best looking truck to hit the streets.

And a 2003 Supercab 4x4 F150 XLT with a few options was about 33-34k!

That's what I was going to say. Any truck you look at that's extended cab + 4X4 will be about $30k (book). This hasn't changed much since ~2001.

the only reason my dad bought me the L was that a 4x4 f150 fx4 was 38K and the l was 28k

If Ford decides to produce them they will not be manuals, you can take that to the bank. Hopefully Ford will use the new diesel trannys that are all solenoid controlled, no accumulators.
I agree with you about the looks, though, ours are the best looking trucks ever produced. I wouldn't buy an uglyazz '05.:beers:

That's pretty funny. I remember a lot of people were saying the same thing when the Gen 2 body style came out. The previous generation Fords were always square looking and looked like a truck, and people thought the new style looked to much like a car and didn't look tough like a truck. Now everybody raves about the Gen 2 body style and its clean rounded lines. Each generation is different and in time it will become the norm and very well accepted. It's our nature not to like change right away.:beers:

Are the '04 F150's out yet? I saw one this afternoon with manufacturer's plates on it. The front looks like the new Expeditions and the bed is really high.

And some of us are still saying that
