I never do kickdowns just for the fun of it. And I hardly ever even do that to begin with.

But my goal IS to keep this truck in it's current condition for many years to come too.

I have been prone to let the truck kickdown as well.

I noticed when it downshifts from 2nd into 1st under hard acceleration, it will not do the torque reduction on the 1-2 shift (it is stock). Yet, from a standstill takeoff you get the "fart shift." I could see along those lines how it could damage the tranny.

Ever since the completion of my mods, kick downs result in roasting the rear tires. I want to go fast not be last!

If I had some real engine mods, I might reconsider if I didn't get a monster box along with it.

...but then, I don't really have any engine mods, all suspension and brakes...so I'm not too worried about it at the moment.

Hell, my ECU is still "virgin".

Will a monster box handle kick downs better than the stock tranny? Also what is being harmed in the trans when you do a kick down? thanks, Shane

do you have a monster box or just the valve body? I have the valve body and I love it.

Yes somebody please explain. If this is the case, I want my truck to downshift like it does stock. Im about to order a chip and if the kick down harms my trans, I dont want the kickdown programmed in the chip.

I don't think my tranny cares what I do to it.

The truck kickdowns stock. It is the rolling downshift...

When rolling at about 15-20mph and I floor it, the truck will not kick down into 1st. I rode in a buddies truck with a JLP chip and he quickly showed me how his truck would now downshift/kick down where my would not stock. Am I confused on what you guys describe a kickdown as ?

Ofcourse I do kickdowns whenever possible! I ravage my truck like a cheap *****!

Which reminds me, how much does a monster box go for? I'm getting up to some big mileage. Oh, and the dancing bananna is comical to me.
