question about overdrive
So...... when racing turn OD off?
I do simply because my engine is louder, and feels faster/more responsive. This truck is my only car (well, I had driven an Oldsmobile for 6 weeks and a rental Lancer for a month) and I would like to believe I have a good feel for it. I can tell the engine sounds louder and seems to be more responsive and faster (but this has not been tested at the track, as I am useless other than giving simply "Oh, my seat of the pants meter was off the charts!!!!!!!)
Reguardless of what anyone says, even if OD adds about 10 seconds to my quarter mile speeds, it feels like I go faster (atleast louder! That will show them all! BWA HA HA!)

I dont think it makes a difference if u have the OD off or on at the track, the only thing it does is disable the truck from going to 4th gear. The truck runs the same with or without it on.

The only reason I turn my O/D off, is so it does not slam into overdrive once I am finished with the run, I also easy out of the throttle, so the boost gauge doesn't slam close either. This is just me of course. I just don't like my trans too slam into O/D, nor see my boost gauge slam to 0 boost. (it might be helping in not sucking oil into the supercharger too)
