Another question for the guys with 20's

What size rims are you all running. I made a few phone calls today because my brother wants some Smoothie 2's. The fellas at discount tire direct gave me a great price(atleast I think so), but it is for 20x8.5's. When I asked about 20x10's the fella said he couldn't get them. Are 20x8.5 too narrow>??? Does anyone have any pictures they could post>??? Thanks. -Mat-

20x8.5 will work with a 275/45/20 tire but you are stretching it for a 295/40/20 size.
You need at least 20x9.

I have a set of 20x8's with 295/40/18 good years on them. I bought them used and got a great deal on the set, but If I was purchasing new wheels. I'd get as wide as I could. 20x11 or 20x10 at the least.

Got my 20x10's from my local Discount Tire for $425. I've heard prices have dropped to around $400 or below. They definitely look wider than my 20x9 replicas did. Like they said above, stay away from 20x8.5 and at least go 20x9.
Thanks, Jeff

I'm running the Nitto 444s in 305/40ZR/20 on Neeper 20X8.5 rims. The 305 width rubs a little when the front suspension is compressed, but other than that, they work fine. The carcass on the Nitto is really stiff (made for an SUV) so it can handle a little narrower rim. Before that I ran Dunlop SP 9000s (295/40ZR/20) for 27K miles without any problems.

You guys witht the wide rims like 10 and 11 inches wide have clearance problems when turning?

Awesome ride ,the house in the background is huge!

Thanks guys. The tires are 295/40/20's. The house is not mine. Got tired of taking pictures in the same spots. So I drove up to a picturesque spot with some mountains. Super nice neighborhood with mountains to the back and a view of lakes below. Maybe some day when I win the Powerball.

Sixpipes, your truck looks EVIL in that picture. Very nice.

Thanks, Jeff

I've got a list of the nicest looking trucks I've seen in each color. Yours is the poster child for Sonic Blue.

Go_rila has gotten a little beat up over the years so I'm planning on getting him a make-over for his fifth birthday next year. Still photographs pretty well though. Thanks.
