Couldn't help myself,its gone--

After several attempts at selling my Lightning, and meeting some very strange potential buyers, none with the funds available at the time, I ended up trading it in.
As of Tuesday I will be the owner of a 2003 sonic blue Cobra.
My local dealer ( where I purchased the L) is a really great guy who has a massive collection of muscle cars himself. He gave me a really good $$ for the L, and A-planned me the Cobra.
I am in the process of striping all the aftermarket items off the truck this weekend as he wants it in the stock form.
I will place seveal items in the classifieds when I get to work Monday morning. If anyone is interesed in a list of these items drop me an e-mail to mcarpen4@ford.com on monday and I will send you a list.
I will still visit this site as I still have my Supercrew and really enjoy the information I have gained here. By listening to you all I was able to take the Lighting 12.39 at 112mph, and still have a very enjoyable , streetable truck.
Wish me luck on modding the Cobra.
Thanks again.

Best of Luck Marc
Love those Cobra's, :rocker:
me and a few others may not be too far behind you.

Do me a favor if you would, after you drive it a few days come back and let me know your opinion on the comfortability.
Do you feel cramped
Is it hard to get in and out of
Maybe how it drove in the rain
Etc....
AND OF COURSE ON IT'S WOT WHINE, hehehehehehe.....

I had a 96 Cobra and remember it being difficult to get in and out of and a feeling of cramped while driving it. I'm hoping to find out thats improved

Good luck with the Cobra Marc, its an awesome piece of machine. I hope to add the newer body style cobra to my stable whenever they get around to making them .

Have fun and be safe

Hey Rob, if you don't mind my throwing in an answer...
I'm 6'1 260. We've added a Sonic Blue 03 to the stable (kept the L...best of both worlds) the seats are 'tight', but once I'm in place the space seems fine (for a smaller sports coupe). Ingress/Egress (trying to improve my vocabulary) isn't really a problem unless you can't get the door open due to 'closely parked objects or a wall...the door seems pretty long...SOP for 4 seat 2-doors. Back seats are tough for anyone over 5'8" and 13 years old unless they are contortionists.
Drives amazingly well in the rain, heavy rains included, wipers are good.
WOT in stock trim isn't so much whine as a pleasant cacophony of amazing sounds, the exhaust, the rear end, the tranny, engine drive noises plus the intake. All of them sound like 3" from your head but only last a short time before the next gear calls.
I find it less comfortable for long trips than the L, but find I drive it at 80% most of the time, probably cause my rear end is getting pinched, and I want to get to my destination faster. That and the 6 speed dares you to 'run to the red'.
Brutal Power in a small package....wonderful for me.

Another one bites the DUST!!!

Everyone I know is dumping the L for a Cobra, what gives???

Tell you the truth, if I had to get rid of the L, and I do mean IF, it would be for a Cobra, no doubt.

Congrats Marc!!
