It's almost C-Notch Time!

Finishing the rear drop so the truck will not bottom out.
I can now drop the rear 5" with plenty of clearance.

Don't forget those nifty little heim seals for the endlinks.

Where do I get them and why do I need them?

SOME GOOD INFO:
I have been doing some research on the intronet on how to correctly install a C-notch for about a month now. I have found alot of professional use Plasma Cutters and others use the torch method. The instructions from Western Chassis (which I tend to believe more) say to simple use a air powered die grinder. The reason is the heat from the other two methods will actually cause the metal around the cut to be weakened.

A torch is very bad, but a plasma cutter will not heat up the surrounding material like a torch or welding. Bolt the C-notch in place then make the cut.

I don't have the link at work, but they keep dirt out and quiet down the links.

Chris,

He can't do that with the WC piece. The notch itself is welded to the support bracket and is just as wide as the frame so you have to cut twice measure once...or something like that ;)

Just examine the photos a bit closer and you'll see what I mean.

Duhhh:confused:

I am smart....no really.

These things are insanse, there's 12 bolts that hold them in.
4 on the bottom and 8 on the side.

you're actually going 5 inches in the rear? Should look good but your front is going to have to go lower to match..which is a bit too low for me ... you should be barely clearing parking stops as it is

TampaBlack99 Jun 17, 2003 03:49 PM

No, but I can if I want to down the road.
I have a set of WC 2" drop springs at home waiting to be installed.
This should give me an additional 1" drop up front.

When the truck is done in about 2yrs I am thinking about just bagging the front and then setting the back to a 5" drop!

Konig Jun 17, 2003 03:56 PM

bags? aww man, thats gonna kill your cornering some, plus the ride quality will be kinda squishy... but you dont drive fast anyhow. :p ....oh by the way, the 2#er came in today, one day service...gotta love it

TampaBlack99 Jun 17, 2003 04:14 PM

Bagging is for when it becomes a Show Queen... kinda like yourself.

Konig Jun 17, 2003 04:22 PM

show queen? I race more than I go to shows... guess that makes me a "drag queen" ? That sux
