How quiet are L's on the highway?

I guess the subject asks it all, but just how noisy are the L's on the highway? I have a 2000 Mustang GT with Magnaflow Xpipe and catback and it didn't use to drone, however it does now, and I'm sick of the drone, I'm hoping I'm getting closer to the promise land of owning a L. (If darn attorney would hurry up  )

How do they compare to the normal F-150's? my ma drives a 02 king ranch and my pa drives a 02 xlt xtended cab.

Thanks
Chris

The stock exhaust on our trucks is quiet...TOO quiet...

You should not find any problems with drone or excessive loudness....

how much noise does the blower make on highway..

I test drove a 01 about 6-7 months ago, and didn't really try it under normal driving :D

But I do remember that thing sounded like a Banshee when floored and the charger screamming

You really will not notice much supercharger at all once you hit crusing speed and the stock exhaust you can not notice either I took the truck on a 2 week honeymood.

These things are as quiet as any luxuary car out there at hwy speed. You foot is hardly touching the gas, the rpms are low, especially since your in OD, the boost is none at crusing speed, and the stock exhuast is too quiet like cyntaxx just said.

I love when I'm telling someone how I run 12.0's and then they ask me to start it up so they can hear it.
I simply tell them there's absolutely nothing to hear, and usually don't bother even starting it, there's isn't anything to hear.

But comes WOT, boy oh boy do I love that whine
BTW
I do wish it had a slight rumble to it stock

My spintech aftercat is pretty quite at speed.

The biggest noise you'll have is from the 295s rubber rollin.

LIGHTNINROD May 26, 2003 07:27 PM

Quiet as a 'church-mouse'...................until you go WOT!:rocker:

No mechanical noises, but the wind noise is terrible.

I'll let you know on Saturday when I pick up my new 03! ou:D

My 99 Bolt w/stock exhaust (for the short time it was on there!) was nice and quiet on the highway but as Tim pointed the wind noise is very present in these trucks. No biggie though.....

No flame but if you consider a stock Lightning too loud then you shouldn't be driving one!

They are TOO quiet and most try to make both the blower whine and exhaust louder. The former is especially addictive!

I started a lightning at a dealer for the first time and i found it to be loud....? BUT right now I do drive a V6 Toyota Camry! So for me the Sound is  :D

If you think that's loud you should hear my truck start up :D

Or better yet, go listen to some with big cams and longtubes, hi-flo or no cats, etc...

Crap, or just start it off in the middle of your catback install! :D

I couldn't resist, once I got my stock cat-back off... Had to take it for a spin to cool off!

Well,

Mine's bone-stock...but the stock exhaust has "seasoned" and has developed a bit of a "deeper" note since I picked it up in OH back in Feb.

Another thing! I had a '00 F-150 Lariat before this and it's a b#tch as far as road-trips are concerned for your @ss!

Haha... the gf drove if from OH to TX w/me in the U-Haul.

Ronald
