Quick question about placement of flip chip toggle switch...
Hey I just got a new Superchip and it's got the cord and then a toggle switch like you all have. It's a great set up and so much better than my single program i have to keep pulling and sending back to get reburned. My question is, when I plug the superchip in, and i extend the wire and I mount the toggle switch anywhere under my dash... What do I do when I need a reburn later on?
Will I be able to take the chip out (of computer) and send it back for a reburn, after I hard install the toggle switch? How do i disconnect the toggle switch? Or can I "t" it somehow to be able to come in and out....
Thanks, Shane

Just drill a 5/16 hole somewhere under the glovebox then
mount the switch there. When you have to remove toggle use
I think an 8mm shocket, and pull out everything together after
removing plug on ECM in the engine compartment. Don't forget
to tape the chip in the ECM with duct tape or similar tape. They have been known to wiggle loose at times!

Superchips (unlike Auto-Logic) sends the switch attached
to the chip. The first "chip" I saw was an Autologic, and
I "assumed" that they all came that way. When I cut the
switch off, Superchips refused to refund my money.
Just a caution ...
Here's a nifty spot for the switch. Easy install and removal.
A deep 5/32 socket will work on both the battery bolt and the switch nut.

No need to cut the wires or drill anything.
In my 2000 there is a perfect sized bracket under the glove box on the left corner of the glove box. I posted a picture of it a LONG time ago .. Works perfect for the switch ..

Heres where I put mine and they are both factory holes on the passenger side. The first side is where I first had it( notice H,L marks so I would remember) and it got hit once by my son. The second shot is where it is now and is easier to reach from drivers seat and protected from accidental hits.....

undo the switch when I cut it to send in for a reburn or refund ..
EXPENSIVE LESSON ...
Just to clarify on the 2nd location picture I had posted. The wires were long enough to reach that hole WITHOUT cutting them in anyway. I moved it to the second hole because like QKSILVR also found out it was easily kicked. I didnt want to have to replace a switch when it got kicked off. The second hole is actually back behind the black trim piece pictured a little bit and if someone kicked there hard enough to break the switch behind the plastic piece they wont be riding in my truck again
if I do something like this...
can i wire it like you, and run it through the top and down near the computer have a little clamp (acting as a conductor to the wire) that so I can take the chip in and out for reburns... then just plug the chip back in the computer, and connect the wire on the superchip to the wire on my toggle switch and i'm back in business? or is it not that easy? If i can get more info on wiring the toggle switch more than the length given away from the computer, I'd appreciate it. Thank you, Shane

Bob and MISTERgadget, if that's true about cutting the wire, how were you able to mount the switch there? Question on the warrenty on the superchip... I have had a diablo chip for a year now and havent had any problems with it, what is wrong with cutting it (the wire) and re-wireing it... All ive had to do is get reburns on a chip. What kind of a warrenty is there on a used item I bought? Thanks, Shane
