Calling tuners with big boost....

I have been told that the 90mm MAF starts to run out of breath at anything over 23-24#s of boost, and is there any truth to that?

What would be the ideal size MAF for someone running the Kenne Bell or the Works at full capacity?

the biggest i think we can get is a 95mm right now, jdm was going to make a 100mm for the public, but that didn't work out i guess

What is currently available is not as important as what would be best. I have been led to believe that the potenial of both blowers is compromised by the 90mm MAF.

Get a C&L 95mm MAF

I am having something made, and need the ideal MAF diameter...:fyi:

The 90mm Ford pegs on trucks with just a 6lb pulley most of the time. We're pegging the 90mm at 4700 on the Works 140 trucks with only 18 psi becuase of the huge volume of air the 140 moves. We've used both the C&L 95mm and the Pro-m 92mm, and both of those MAFs also peg at 4700rpms with the 140. Both of those MAFs also have tranfer curves that barely outflow the 90mm Ford.

You guys need to try the 95mm Pro-M sewer pipes that are out now. They are working great for the 03 Cobra guys.

I kinda knew that the Ford 90MM was hard to beat. I have also heard that they have had tunability problems with the C&L and Pro-M MAFS. So I guess we are in limbo until someone works out the bugs with a bigger one. I am putting my money on Sal for this one.

Thanks Sal.

What is the solution, or is there one?

Ayrton,

I would be interested in info on this matter as well. I have ported and polished heads and intake a Ford 90 MM MAF and will be running 26 lbs of boost my self.

It was wild to see the 12" cone filter on my ram air kit get the walls sucked in when I gave it a little gas!

Is that the sound of crickets I hear?

I'd be interested in knowing something about this as well. I have all the bolt-ons on my 02HD and I can hit 4.9V on the stock 90MM maf at WOT every time. Assuming 5.0V is the ceiling, I'm already there and I'm only running a 6lb lower pulley.

From what I have read of the 85MM C&L that the L guys used instead of going to the OEM 90MM, they had major tunability issues...

Who out there has done a big MAF? Is custom an option? Who would do it?

Ken
