I agree, Joe... Worst part is, the guy from the website tries to say that it's 100% real...

I can't say I remember the last time I saw a tire accelerate UP a hill, without help....

Oh, and let's not forget how far that muffler rolls, or how the wheels on the car steer themselves! :p

One of the best commercials I've ever seen, though! :rocker:

FastAsL Apr 19, 2003 11:21 AM

I read up on this commercial last week. There is no computer animation at all and it took them 606 tries to get the whole thing right. They also said that if they would have tried it again it probably wouldnt have worked. Also the way they get the tires to roll up the ramp is because they have screws and weight specifically positioned inside the tires. I will try to find the article and post the link here.

The only problem with doing that with a Lightning is:

The two piece valves would break

The rotors would warp

The support bar would wear through the seat

The exhaust would vibrate

The wiper motor would fail

The rods would break

The door would crack

And then as it drove off the ramp, the front susp would clunk

:p

It's still neat as hell, and I also noticed that it's a right hand drive dash.

That won't work.. Either there's alot of lines and other things "you don't see" or it's computer animation..

I really want a living room as big as that room, thing must be something like 400 feet long.

There was ONE bit of computer animation, to transition from the first half of the commercial to the second, because the room was not big enough to do it in one take, but the rest of it is live. Totally amazing. It took 8 people working 5 months to pull it off. And its rhd because its a British commercial, cost like 570,00 £ to shoot.
:bows: :beers:
