Flowmaster Exhaust
Flowmaster Exhaust
I was wondering if anybody heard/seen this new flowmaster cat-back exhaust. I called flowmaster about 2 years ago and they said they didn't have an exhaust for our trucks since theirs sounded like a mad sewing machine. RPM Outlet shows this new exhaust for $325.00. Thanks.
when i first got my truck it had two flowmasters, truck was used, and i did not like it, i went to a borla catback and it was a much nicer sound, the flows sounded like a wet rag in there somewhere and not tuned at all, i cant tell u if it was their new system or not...

Well when I talked to them they said that there systems sounded funny. At least they were honest unlike some others who show inflated HP numbers with just cat-backs. Here is the link www.rpmoutlet.com. It says new design made just for the 99-03 Lightnings.
I am curiuos on this new cat-back system for our trucks. I am in the military and am currently trying to mod three seperate Ford vehicles. A 98 SHO, 92 Saleen Conv. and of course the 2000 Lightning. I have worked real hard at a part time job to feed my massive mod habit. I was thinking about the MAC system but then I saw this new Flowmaster set-up and was really interested in it. I have seen several threads here where people have bolted on flowmaster mufflers but this says it is a new design. Really curious. Also I am new to this board but find all of very freindly and professional. Thanks for all the posts. KEEP IT UP>
92Saleen I'm not saying anything against the flowmasters but if I was you I would look into the Bassani cat back system, the sound is amazing, no cabin drone or anything yet it roars when you get on it. Want something louder check out JDM's silver bullet and I don't know about REM's cat back but I'm sure its nice too.. heh good luck! welcome to the boards
SpankDog,
I have looked at the Bassani and it sure does look good as well as soung good nut at $500 looks pricey. I may have to drop the coin on a Bassani. The SHO has a custom Magnaflow set-up and sounds awesome. The mustang has the Dynomax set-up and sounds mean as hell but the truck is missing that mean sound that needs to go with that loud *ss blower whine I have going on.
You really have to smile when you hear that blower whine.

Man I didn't spell that to good. My 5 year bumped into me as I was looking over my post and bang I posted. Sorry about that.

I have two single in single out flowmasters on my truck and I love the sound. It sounds like a true muscle car and is louder than all hell at WOT! My friends have said that they had a hard time hearing when they were on the right side of my truck while we were racing! For 200 bucks total with the labor I don't really see any problem with the flowmasters.
Get the Bassani!
To me, it was worth every penny that I paid for it. Sounds great. I'm getting some long tubes as soon as possible with some hi-flow cats and midpipes to complement it. Can't go wrong, the cat-back is impeccable.

I would go with the Bassani, I just ordered mine this week. I have heard a lot of people say the silver bullit has some drone in the cab, and from the sound clips that I have the Bassani sounds awesome. Problem is the Bassani is more like $700 than $500.
dual flowmasters right here, love the sound especially at low rpm... could sound a little better maybe at high rpm I suppose though...hard to hear it clearly over the blower whine. I have laways liked the way borla sounds, but I think if I change mine Im going with either magnaflow or bassani
i just ordered one. it is actually 25 bucks cheaper at truck performance but i went through rpm because i thought they had free shipping, but now that i look at my invoice i see this was not the case
i will let you know how it sounds as soon as i bolt her on.
