Cant use highflow cats?

I went to two seperate Exhaust shops around here and they said that becuase my truck is OBD2 that i cant take off my four cats and put on 2 high flow due to the computer will mess up. I know plenty of people on here have done this so i dont understand why they say this. Can some elaborate on this some more.

My computer throws a code once in a while due to the high flow cats, but you fix that with your chip.

I've got a JDM tuned flipchip and had Long tubes and cat's installed back in Feb and have had no problems and did not get a reburn. However, i'd recommend you call JDM and ask the question.

The exhaust shop is probably telling you that because of the legal BS crap. I just had the same thing when trying to get some work done. They dont want to take off 4 and put back only 2. It will not hurt your computer at all. I had no cats on my Lightning and would get a code when I changed to racing fuel, a simple reset of the pcm after the race gas was out made the light go away.

There are others that can burn programs for your chip than JDM..

I had a similar Q about the cats. I know hi-flos will trip a code that can be corrected by a chip. But what if I went with a 3 inch midpipe (like hdmlnm) and got rid of the cats altogether? Would I need more than just a simple reburn?

is our pipeing 3"? i thought it was 2 1/2. I was thinking of running know cats, but i wasnt sure if backpressure is good for supercharged cars. I came from a turboed car so you want zero backpressure. I ran a open downpipe for my supra and it ran great.

Well there are actually only a couple who can tune superchips and if you want an aggressive tune and want someone who knows the most about tuning superchips(alot of minor details like what the effects on a computer would be to change out cats) you are better off with JDM.

Some tuners can burn superchips but they dont know all the details.
For instance all of the main 3 tuners have all different modules.JDM IS the most knowledgable for superchips period. There are things he can and will do that youll never get even "SUPERCHIPS" themselves cannot or will not do.

Just got mine inspected with high flows. No problems.
One o2 in front one behind JUST like stock....

How many miles do you have ? I think the law says you have to have 50k + before you can change the exhaust...

I recently replaced my 4 factory cats with 2 Magnaflow high-flow cats. I purchased 2 mandrel bent 90 degree bends and had a local exhaust shop weld everything up. I left all the O2 sensors in the factory locations and just replaced the 4 factory cats with the 2 high-flow ones. I did not get a chip reburn and my SES light has never came on. But beware your exhaust will be a lot louder after the install! Below is a pic:
