Nitto 555's anyone?
 

Hey...need 4 new donuts. Called Discount tire & they said the Toyo Proxies I want are on a 1 MONTH backup!!! DAM*IT!! They said the closest perfromance lateral is Nitto 555's. Anyone have these? Are they decent? I had Nitto DR's on my cobra & they were worthless. Also, can I safely go with a wider tire than a 45? I dont want excessive sidewall but I would like a little more rubber than these 45's. Thanx guys!!!:D

I have 2 555's in the back and they are great, about to get 2 more in the front. They are better than the Toyo's. I believe the toys have harder rubber.....

Sweet, do they look as good as the proxies. I originally liked those because they were such a sharp tire. Also, does anyone know if I can go with a wider size with no problems?

I havent seen the Toyo's but the 555's look a lot better than the F1's to me.

Nittos are made by Toyo, but I believe the Nitto 555 are softer once they break in, and you can run a 295/45/18 and that would give you about a 11.6 tread width. I have seen 305s, but I think they look weird.

Well 305/45-18 for the 555R's in the back but i don't think much else is available in that size.

I need some new shoes to and have been looking into the NT 555s. Where have you guys seen them the cheapest? Thanks.

i'm very pleased with them. if you contact nitto, the 295-45-ZR18 (our stock tire size) is the largest 555 they carry unless you go with a drag radial (NT-555R) 305-45-ZR18
