Unhappy My truck coughs and sputters

Every now and then my truck does this upon start up. I'll turn the key and it's like it has to catch it's breath before starting. Only have to turn once though, but sometimes there's this pause. Any ideas? Oh yeah, it doesn't matter about the weather either. Mods in sig. Thanks.

Common problem....

(fix near bottom of that page)

The warm weather starts this issue over again. I have the problem, just need to get around to fixing it. Seems pretty easy.

Max may have the answer but here's some other ideas:

If the eng. is 'hot' and hard to start:

1. Dirty air filter
2. Bad eng, ground connection
3. Fuel injection or eng. control systems malfunction

If the eng. is 'cold' and hard to start:

1. Battery discharged or low(doesn't sound like that from your description)
2. Fuel not reaching the f/i's--check filter, lines, and pump
3. Defective spark plugs
4. Defective eng. coolant temp. sensor
5. Same as no. 3 above
