Infinity Kappa 6x8's - anyone using them?
They can be had at www.onlinecarstereo.com for $99. I don't want to run components because of mounting the tweeter but I still want a quality door speaker. Are you running an amp to the Kappas. RMS rating of 100 watts. My HU is 50x4. I really don't want to run another amp because my sub amp is going to be under the pass seat and I don't know where to put another one. Should I look at the Polk DX7's instead? I've always been a huge Infinity fan though. Thanks.

Had them, blew them and then went with some 6.5" components :)

What RMS were you feeding them if you don't mind me asking?

Are you running an amp to them? My HU is 22 watts RMS and I would like to just use the HU if possible.
|
I got them on my stock unit... no amp... I like them. You can find better but I don't drive to listen to music ;) If I want to listen I stay home and crank up the tunes there.
A decent improvement over the stock units. |
I have four of them in my work truck that run off a fosgate 4X50 amp, which also powers two 8 inch subs.
I have managed not to blow them up after 3 years and they sound great compared to stock imho. |
I was only giving them 50 watts rms and they blew :( Besides, if you have a lot of bass in the rear with subs the components let you hear the mids and highs a lot better.
And Spanky, hey nobody told me you couldnt use 2900 watts :) http://www.evilsvt.com/pictures/truck/audio/2.jpg |

I just installed 2 pair of the 572.5cf today. They sound pretty dang good to me. I'll be pulling them out next week to install the Dynamat (didn't arrive yesterday). After that I have a JL amp to install. I got them from ikesound.com at their ebay price of $75/pair, delivered for about $179.
