Thanks. Why not the '97s' for you?

The 96's will probably work better on the 8" wheels...For prices call your nearest Mickey Thompson tire dealer.

Didn't try the 28" tall ET Streets, but I didn't like the 26 inchers on the L. I was blowing the tires off the rim every pass...couldn't get traction even at Atco where I was getting 1.8X 60' times on F1's.

Out of the three passes at Atco on ET Streets, I had a 1.79, 1.95 and another1.9 something. Thumbs down.

Well that is not the fault of the tire........that is track prep.

A lot of others have had great success with ET Streets

I was getting 2.+ 60 ft times back in 2001 with F1's. I cut that down to low 1.7's everytime with my 26x11.5x16 et streets on 16x10 wheels...no tubes, no screws, and if I remember correctly 16/17 psi.

Track prep that day at Atco was awesome...1.8X with F1's and I still couldn't muster a good 60' with the ET Streets. I figured it was my first time trying them out so maybe I just had to figure out how to launch.

Yesterday at E-town (track REALLY sucked), my best 60' was 1.83. I tried all different pressures but found that anything under 18 psi and I would start wiggling on the big end. Towards the end of the night, the blow torch they were using to heat the track up at the line didn't even do anything.

I've not used DOT's since I used M&H's back in the day (I've always used ET Drags) so maybe I am just stupid into thinking these were supposed to be like magical tires like the ET Drags or M&H DOT's were. Too bad M&H doesn't make tires anymore (I think).

Mine wiggles at high speed. I think it has to do with pressure and the fact that I had radials up front and bias-ply tires in the rear.

So let me get this straight.......on the same day you got low 1.8's on F-1's swapped to ET's and got 1.9's

You are not heating the MT's up then........they love heat

That's correct. You're right, that day at Atco I had problems heating them up because the truck kept going sideways during the burnout and I had to get out of it early.

Yesterday however, I burned the ***** out of them but it didn't make any difference. I know it's like comparing apples to oranges because it was two different tracks on two different days and good/bad conditions. The only two things that were the same were the temperatures and the fact that I couldn't hook on ET Streets. I even tried coming out at an idle yesterday and that didn't help either. I think I had a 1.99 on that pass. Luckily it was my bye run.

I agree you can not compare track prep on different days.

I am still perplexed as to why you are spinning.

Just a side note...........mine really started to grip after about a dozen passes/heat cycles.

Thanks for the replies. Me too I got these tires used with a little more than 1/2 life left and they came off an L. I have to find out what kind of 60' times the guy was getting before me. It is a friend of a friend who had the L. Either way, I think they may be too short anyway. I am going through the traps at about 5700 rpm I think.

Hopefully next week I will be back at the dyno to get an after number w/JDM full length exhaust. What I plan to do is bolt on the ET Streets for at least 1 pull to see what kind of numbers it turns (because of the shorter tires). I am interested to see what they do to HP and Tqe numbers. Also I want to dyno my race side of the chip.

I had great luck with my E.T. streets! I had numerous 1.6?? 60 foots with them and they always hooked up great. 8 inch wide rims and no tubes and nop screws with about 12 to 13 psi in each tire.

now i got the hoosiers and OMG these hook up even better and I love them.

These guys are going to drive me crazy. They have the tires listed on the web site, but they are still being tested? They say 2 weeks until production... May have to get another set of Hoosiers...
