Flushing the Coolant system's....

Any have some good tips for doing each?

Motor coolant, drain from bottom hose and run water through the system right?

What about the intercooler system?

Also what is the best mix for each when I put fluid back in?

I am going to buy the premixed 50-50 antifreeze when i change my intercooler to the new JDM style

Do some research on glycol(antifreeze)/water mixtures. You can extract MUCH more heat by using less antifreeze. I just drained my intercooler res. and used a 70/30 water/glycol mixture along with water wetter instead of 50/50 glycol/water. Should reduce intake air temp by 1-3 *F.

Less antifreeze = more heat transfer = cooler temps

a 30/70 mixture will prevent freezing to 0*F and transfer much more heat. So it really depends on where you live (it gets pretty cold in VA). But definately add Water Wetter, which is really not much more than SOAP (to reduce surface tension) with some added lubricants (for water pump, etc.).

I just use a 50/50 mixture, and allways use distilled water when I refill my coolant system. You would be surprised what crap is in tap water.
