need help on pulling motor......

installed JDM's full exhaust last night on my fathers truck. Standing under the truck I was kinda peeking around cause i was thinking on pulling my motor this winter.

From what I can see.......

Looks like the blower in intake has to come off. Fuel lines disconnected. Fan and shround off. Disconnect starter wires. Unbolt power steering and alternator. Remove coolant hoses.
Not sure about best way to handle tranny????

Has anyone done this.........any pointers???

it is not an easy task at all especially on newer vehicles, unless youve done it before i wouldnt recommend trying it on your L. but if your gonna do it anyways, the best way to do it is to buy a ford tech cd or book and take your time. although some of the motor work might be out of your ability depending on what you wanna do. some of the stuff is best done with certain ford tools but can be done without if you know what your doing (its just a slight bit more pain in the you know what...)

Tallimeca - come and hang out a JDM's for a few days, you'll quickly learn.

It's takes some time and patience, but very doable.

tranny

would you have to drop the tranny out completely? I have the tools, the space, and the lift, so that's not a problem.

You dont have to drop the trans. I however probably would remove the trans totally if I did another one. If you have access to a lift removing the body is very simple and makes the job alot easier. I think superfords posted some how to remove the body pics but im not positive. Either way its a tough job for someone thats never done it. Like captainoblivious said its just takes paitence.
