What are the 99 L's worth?
I tried to make a deal on a 03 today. The a-hole at the dealer ask me what I wanted for it. I said Kelly Blue Book says $20,000.00 trade in, my truck needs a new front air dam and a couple of other paint touchups so I told him I thought $17,000 was a fair price (he spends $1000.00 to make it really look good and then sells it for $19,900.00). He told me we were so far apart he was not going to even tell me what they would give me. My truck is not perfect but it has a hard bed cover, bed rug chrome wheels and $1,100.00 worth of new Toyo's on it! It also had 64,500 miles on it. I would think even a dealer would give me $16,000 to $17,000.00 for it. Maybe not:help:

offered for a 01 with 15k,these dealers are nuts with their lowball trade in values, they should be happy their getting a sale instead of trying make a big profit on the trade ins:mad: |

Dealers won't give anything for mods, which include chrome wheels, bedcovers, stereos, remote starts, sunroofs, bedrugs, spray-on bedliners, tinted windows, and especially tires.
IMO, I think with all of the financing deals on new vehicles and it being winter not many people are going to pay a lot for a used Lightning. |
I sent Travis ( Caka) an e-mail this afternoon. He just sold his 99 and I'll find out what he got for it. I thought with the book price being $19,500.00 that I could get at least 16 to 17 thousand for it trade in. I bet I can sell it outright for $17,000.00 no problem (I hope).

The payment could end up being the same or even lower when you buy a new vehicle. Another issue revolves around the risk of buying a used performance vehicle. You have no way of knowing how hard someone dogged the used Lightning. Low miles on the odo can actually be a warning. Maybe 20k worth of 1/4 mile sprints at WOT...LOL. Rocks |
jerry jordan, how much are you asking, i have a 2000 and a friend around around here is looking for a 99-2000, and your price range seams just in his ball park, what color is it, and where are you located?

If you sold your truck on your own, I would only expect to see $15,500 for it max - remember, it has damage. I would suspect dealer trade value would be $14,000 or so. The truck is higher mileage, and it needs some cosmetic work. I had a '99 that I sold for $18,200 with 41,000 miles, and minor modifications... it was a very, very clean truck - people on here can vouch for that. I thought this was a very reasonable deal, and it was just right. Dealer trade for mine was $15,000.

I hope your wrong 99Cobra. There are two in the Austin paper, a 99 with 35,000 miles for $19,880.00 and a 2000 for $21,000.00.
I am having a new airdam and the paint issues fixed in the next week or two. Guy at the body shop said 7 to 8 hundred for all. Jerry |
i purchased a 1999 in october that had 3500 miles on it. i payed 24999 for it plus i was 3000 buried in my wifes honda civic. but i got a super clean truck and i am very happy. i no its not worth what i paid but niether was my honda and i am happier making payments on the lightning. i have seen a few 2002 leftovers in local news papers for 29995 and i have heard as low as 27999 so that really hurts the price of the older ones that are out of warrenty. just my opinion!

I got 74k on mine, a few nicks and stuff, I wonder how much mine is worth. I not selling it

Jerry check your email.
I got $17,200 for my truck on a trade. I also have a friend that will probably buy your truck for what you want for it. FYI, you will love the JDM exhaust!!!!!! |
